5 | Funding Programme Forced Migration | The Funding Programme Forced Migration from the Gerda Henkel Foundation provides research funding for humanities researchers worldwide studying forced migration. The proposed research project should cover one of the following areas: Forced-migration infrastructures, South-South (im)mobilities, Multiple displacements, Displaced people’s agency, (Supra-)state influences on displacement processes. The Programme is open to researchers who are PhD holders in the humanities, social sciences, cultural studies, law, or economics. There are no restrictions on citizenship or research location. Depending on the research approach taken and possibilities at hand, cooperation with local knowledge-producers, including people with lived experience of displacement in countries of origin or asylum, researchers and civil society actors (particularly in the “Global South”), is strongly encouraged.The applicant must carry out the research and publish the conducted research in their own name.
